Why does my 2006 checy equinox start hard sometimes? I turn the key and it keeps turning over like the starter is stuck. Only happens once in a while. When it does this, I have on occasion smelled gas. Is it a starter problem or fuel injectors?

This is normal the new auto starter system is set so that it tries to start for a set number of seconds. Every once in a while the system just has a hic up and the car does not start as fast as normal. You are fine. My Aztek does the same thing 1 out of 100 starts it tries to start harder than the other times.
