I need to rotatee my tires on my car. I know I will have to take it in to have this done, but I was just wondering if I have to get ALL new tires or if they can be just roteated. Because I know for a fact that the Lexus IS(or all of them for the matter) has to get all new tires, since they can not be rotated. (my sister has it and she says how expensive it is) But I need to know if I need to get all new tire for my Buick Lucerne or if they can just be rotated. Or if they can't be rotated, I'm getting a new car.

Whom ever told you that tires can't be rotated is a moron. most tire shops can reset your TPMS, if it needs to be reset after a rotation. They don't all need to be reset just for a rotation depends on the car. You should rotate your tires about every 12,000 miles. There is one restriction. If you have tires with a directional tread they can only be rotated front to back otherwise they have to be broken down and remounted.

TPMS is just a Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor. All it does is keep track on the pressure in the tire. If it gets too low, the light goes on. Dumb thing is if you put too much pressure in the tire, the light stays off. TPMS is irrelevant to rotation. Look in the manual for both cars. That will tell you the preferred pattern for your cars. I would double check on the Lexus. You may have to take the Lexus to a dealership to get the computer reset, but TPMS isn't the reason you can't rotate tires.
